Iceland’s capital city Reykjavík is located only one hour from Laugarvatn. The city is loaded with landmarks, history, sightseeing, shopping and more. It’s rather a blessing to be situated in the peaceful countryside, but have the busy city life within reach.
The easy-to-follow route between Laugarvatn and Reykjavík takes you right through Þingvellir National Park. A scenic drive over the fault line between the Eurasian and North-American tectonic plates.
The most important port for international travel in Iceland is the Keflavík International Airport. Most travelers will enter Iceland on this airport. The town of Laugarvatn, and the Héraðsskólinn Historic Guesthouse are located ninety minutes drive from the airport.
